Janelle Olson is the Community Engagement Director for Community Cooperative, a non-profit organization which seeks to alleviate hunger and homelessness in southwest Florida. She has held this position since 2023, after serving 3 years developing and leading the Volunteer Services department. In her capacity as Community Engagement Director, Janelle introduces and educates civic, business, and social organizations on the plight of hunger and homelessness in our communities and the critical and innovative ways Community Cooperative works to support our neighbors in need.

Prior to joining the Community Cooperative team, Janelle was CEO/President of Florida Drone Supply and Sky Source Aerial, working with emerging technologies in the aerial industry. She holds an FAA 107 Certification and her company’s national network of drone pilots assisted global telecom companies with the 5G cellular roll-out from 2017-2021. Earlier, Janelle was part of the southwest Florida real estate scene, first as Membership Director for the Naples Area Board of Realtors then worked independently for 12 years in real estate marketing.

She started her career in the non-profit industry in 1995 as Volunteer Director for Give Kids The World, in Kissimmee, Florida. Janelle is an active member at Gateway Trinity Lutheran Church, sits on the Board of Directors for CAMEO of Lee County, and represented Gateway High School on the Lee County School Board District Advisory Council. Janelle has a bachelor’s in Speech/Communications from Gustavus Adophus College St. Peter, MN and is working toward a Masters in Non-profit Management from the University of Central Florida. She proudly achieved a “Ductorate” from Disney University and recently earned her Certificated Volunteer Administrator credential.
